Intent The intent of Project ENRICH is the reformation and improvement of professional development systems including technical assistance and dissemination of knowledge about instructional practices which lead to increased understanding and practical application within classrooms to improve results for children with disabilities.
Philosophy Project ENRICH acknowledges the positive outcomes from professional development in the content area which include more confidence in the classroom, improved and varied instructional practices, and increased student achievement. However, one of the most challenging issues for classroom teachers continues to be meetings the needs of diverse learners, particularly those with disabilities. As such, through Project ENRICH, educators will be provided opportunities to learn and practice instructional strategies proven effective with students with disabilities.
Goals The goals of project ENRICH are threefold:
Create a system for coordinating and enriching the professional development of school personnel, early intervention providers, mentors, volunteers, parents, and others connected with the life and learning of children and young adults with disabilities.
Improve the learning opportunities and achievement of children with disabilities.
Increase meaningful collaboration and linkages with other state and federal school improvement efforts as well as other agencies, services, and resources existing primarily for the good of children with disabilities.
